Nowadays, more and more people of different ages are dealing with some kind of allergy and respirator disorder. Some experts relate this to the use of many artificial, chemically treated and unsafe for the health products and materials, while others with the huge air pollution. To be honest, both of these things are true as these products not only can be damaging for us by wearing or consuming it, but also by breathing in the toxins coming from them when thrown in the landfill. Additionally, the number of vehicles these days is way higher than in the past which is another reason for the many respiratory problems these days.
One of the best inventions for the reason (to help and alleviate respiratory and allergy problems) are nebulisers. The previous versions of the nebuliser compressor were not available for people as they were designed only for hospital use. This was quite of a problem as not all people lived near hospitals, so immediate treatment was almost impossible. Nowadays, people have the ability to own a portable nebuliser and use it whenever needed.
The “catch” about nebulisers is quite simple, it has the power to change the liquid medication to a mist (steam) for easier inhalation into the lungs. Although affordable and small, a quality portable nebuliser works the same way as the compressor ones, which means that it has the power to alleviate and help people of all ages. Usually, these nebulisers come with two different masks, one for adults and the other for children and can be used on both infants and small children. Some of the models have a special mouth and nose piece that can be used without the traditional nebuliser mask. Since it has a larger container, these nebulisers are great when a larger dose of an inhaled medication is needed.
Generally speaking, both versions of nebulisers are portable, but the main difference between them is the way they work. Simply said, the home versions must be plugged into an electrical outlet while the real portable nebulisers can run on batteries (disposable or rechargeable). The smaller versions of portable nebulisers are larger than a deck of cards and can be carried without a problem in a purse, backpack, and briefcase. The main difference between a home and a portable nebuliser is that the latter costs a little more but both of them work the same way.
For its use, you'll need to wash your hands and place the nebuliser (if home/tabletop) on a sturdy surface that can support its weight. Once done, carefully measure the medications and put them into the nebuliser cup and assemble the nebuliser cup, mask or mouthpiece. When done, connect the tubing with the nebuliser cap and turn on the compressor. Simple as that. The benefits of having a nebuliser at home are many, as all people can benefit from, not only asthma suffers. For example, they can be used by both adults and children when having a stuffy nose.
